Institution: Lyceum No. 7, Ivano-Frankivsk City Council
Subjects: Primary school teacher
From an early age, Lesya Pavlyuk dreamed of teaching children. After completing the 9th grade, she enrolled in a pedagogical college and later continued her studies at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. In September 2012, she took charge of her first class.
Today, Lesya is a methodologist teacher, a New Ukrainian School (NUS) trainer, co-author of methodological guides approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and a multiple-time finalist of prestigious educational awards. She was twice named among the Top 50 of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, she earned a diploma in the All-Ukrainian “Teacher of the Year – 2019” competition and was a finalist in the “Rodovid Teacher – 2022” selection.
Lesya was one of the pioneers in her school to work with an inclusive classroom, even before the NUS reform, which spurred her to rethink approaches and the very essence of teaching. “I couldn’t keep working the way I used to,” Lesya recalls. Around the same time, while teaching at an intellectual development center, she was introduced to new methodologies. This led to the creation of a unique blend of approaches that yields remarkable results.
“Shaping a new generation of Ukrainians” – this is how she defines her mission. Lesya Pavlyuk’s strength lies in her ability to see a universe within every child and help it shine.
