Ability to put the child at the center of the learning process. Ms. Pashkovska’s students are transformed from insecure teenagers into self-confident finalists of the All-Ukrainian Olympiads.
21st Century Teacher: Who are they in a nutshell?
An experimenter with a radical desire for educational change. The teacher’s task is to educate leaders and humanists, to be an example to follow. One also needs to know their subject well and constantly improve themself. Thus, Ms. Pashkovska is a regular participant in conferences and seminars.
What skills do Alpha generation students need?
Creativity is a necessary tool in professional and personal life. Ms. Pashkovska believes that it is necessary to educate not fighters, but active creators who will act “for the sake of”, not “contrary to”. Also, environmental thinking and intelligence to understand and adapt to an ever-changing world.
Professional dream: Educate the generation of citizens who will contribute to the preservation of world peace. And also to form leaders who will profess the values of humanism, tolerance, and justice. As a result, Ms. Pashkovska’s Gymnasium, together with the “Dilo” NGO, organizes Days of Tolerance towards AIDS and HIV Patients, and students regularly participate in UN Models.
Source of inspiration: Awareness of the beauty around and the belief that students will grow up to be conscious citizens of Ukraine and the world. Observation of the change of the inflexible Soviet school to a professional and creative Ukrainian system of education.
